It is the highest tropical mountain in the world, and of the Peruvian Andes with its impressive glacier that highlights above other mountains, being the main goal of all expeditions that visit Cordillera Blanca, in some seasons are few the expeditions that reach the summit because the unfavorable climate conditions of the route, this mountain was climbed by first time July 20th 1932 by H. Bernard, P. Borchers, E. Hein, H. Hoerlin and E. Schneider.
